Religious - Having or showing belief in and reverence for God or a deity.
So this morning, i decided to go to a seminar/talk from a spiritual master/ Shyalpa Rinpoche.
Have to say it's quite an experience, the horns and funny hats they were wearing. didn't know that rinpoches were so high and powerful. Lots of people turned up which surprised me, didn't know malaysians would get up so early. Anyway, I did get enlightened. He speaks from Simplicity and his answers are all about yourself. How you determine everything in your life. Example: how your day will turn out, if you yourself generate Compasion. how your money or family will be. it's all up to you. and also not being selfish. It was quite a good experience, i got a good look at Buddhism. But the chants creeped me out though. heh. thank you pa. and congratulations!
Every society, every religious group has it's own rituals and culture. Sometimes what we are not used to makes us uncomfortable but it does not mean it is wrong just unusual. Not usual.
ReplyDeleteImagine someone from a hill tribe attending a service when suddenly after a quiet sermon,the entire hall stands up and break into singing and rocking and clapping. And obviously to the hill tribe visitor in a language that is alien. I thibk he'd probably be feeling creepy too.
